This is an Egyptian nut and spice blend, its recipe varies from family to family. Traditionally it is served at breakfast or as a snack, however in Australia it has become a popular nibble served with drinks. Dip bread into olive oil and then into the Dukkah, or blend the oil and Dukkah together, spread on toast or flatbread and then grill to make a tasty pizza. This spice blend produces an excellent marinade for all meats and vegetables, or a crunchy surprise when stirred through salads and couscous. The Bush Dukkah is flavoured with Australian native spices, including lemon myrtle, aniseed myrtle, bush tomato and wattle seed to achieve a uniquely Australian flavour. It includes: hazelnuts, pistachios, cashews, almonds, macadamias, sesame seed, coriander, cumin, cinnamon and salt.
